I am “El Triumpho”...
The triumph of a hybrid red grape created in 1911 in Colmar. A vigorous resistant grape, producing friendly wine for the farmer’s house.
The triumph of an old vineyard planted 70 years ago, only 7 rows remain today, 229 plants to be exact.
Rescued from becoming forest land.
The triumph of a naive first-time vigneron, who could not emulate the steps of his grandfather in his homeland. Now he had the chance.
The triumph of togetherness in a borderless land. French soil, French grapes, German help, support and advice. Swiss-made wine by Swiss winemaking hands.

“El Triumpho” 2022 - Now on sale
The vintage 2022 was one of the warmest in history.
I harvested the grapes on the last day of August with 13.5% of potential alcohol, compared with 2021 when I harvested 4 weeks later (29th September) with only 12%.
The first thing you will notice about El Triumpho 2022 is its softness on the palate and the intense pronounced red fruit character. Great balance this year.
Fruitier and more ripened than last year. Lots of red berries and perhaps some extra hints of black fruit (due to the warm conditions) are present.
As always, the colour is spectacular. This hybrid grape also has colour in the pulp which gives huge purple intensity to the wine. I love it. I could paint with it!
The herbal side and that touch of bitterness are there, the signature of the American vinifera in the DNA of el Triumpho. You are who you are. Your past also made you. You are carrying your ancestors with you.
This year, we bottled 562 bottles by hand with the help of Bart, Sofia and Eva. Thank you guys.
I included on the label a “Return to the wine shop” message, hoping to collect and re-use the bottles in the coming years.
You will also see some space we left on the label for you to tell me “Your own story” when returning the bottle. I want to know about you.
…and I added more orange to the wax on the top. It was a warm year my friends, El Triumpho 2022 is bursting with flavours.
